12.05.05 | Rubens new CD
Currently, I am in the process of recording my own CD. My project combines songs I co-wrote with the two New York based songwriters, Sheryl Cohen and Karina Zeviani. I am also recording songs by talented musician from Louisiana, Dustan Louque. Covers from Angelique Kidjo and Carlinhos Brown will also be featured.
The main focus of my project is to explore the rhythms and styles of nomadic people including: the northeast of Brazil, West Africa and the Sahara Region, including the Gnawa, Fulani and Touareg music styles.

03.02.05 | Eliane Elias Winter Tour
Hello everyone, after a long time on the road I am finally back. I spent one month touring with Eliane Elias and Marc Johnson in France and Belgium, and then we spent two weeks in Japan.
In France/Belgium we had the opportunity to do some radio and TV shows as well as six concerts in Brussels, Lille, Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon and Marseille. I had also the chance to listen to and meet the members of the group Paris Combo. I really love their music and vibe. It is an authentic mix of styles and a nice blend of musicians ethnic backgrounds. I really recommend all of you to check them out: Paris Combo! http://pariscombo.artistes.universalmusic.fr/
In Japan we performed twelve concerts in all the Blue Note Clubs around the country: Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka. It was an amazing professional, cultural and gastronomic experience! It was my third trip to Japan and I really love it more and more each time I go.
12.28.04 | Angelique Kidjo and Coro 1492
I have just returned from Milan, Italy, where I had the pleasure of performing with "Coro 1492" and Angelique Kidjo. Martinho Lutero, the choir director of "Coro 1492", arranged fifteen of Angelique's songs, from all phases of her career, for a choir of nine singers. I wrote the arrangements for the acoustic trio (Acoustic Guitar, Acoustic Bass and Percussion).
The intention was to create a cross-cultural blend of Afro-Brazilian-Pop with a Gospel-Lyric vibe. The results were fantastic. I really hope to do future performances with Martinho Lutero and his "Coro 1492".
We did three concerts in churches around Milan and one in Bari. The public received the new project with warmth and enthusiasm. I would like to thank my band mates Davi Vieira (percussion), Alexis Cuadrado (bass) as well as the "Coro 1492":
Director: Martinho Lutero
Sopranos: Laura Inzoli, Claudia Costa
Altos: Clara Franceschi, Cristina Martellosio
Tenors: Daniel Kolle, Francesco Giglio
Basses: Mauro Fosci, Pasquale Esposito
